Food in Coatepec Sylvana 6-12-09  
I wonder if someone might help me. I have heard of a small village or town near Jalapa called Coatepec. I can see it on Google maps, but don't know how to find restaurants. Can someone recommend a few restaurants in Coatepec? Also, if you know of any rentals (not fancy), that would be appreciated also.

Cheap is better, but clean. Thanks

Some of the good restaurants are: El Cedro not far from Hotel Posada, 4 Estaciones on calle 5, Arcos de Balem across from the park. There are others that have good food too.

It is located on Constitucion No. 11-15 in Coatepec. There is a sign on the street by the name of Plaza Magnolia. Constitucion is the main street into Coatepec from Xalapa.

My favorite is La Posada Coatepec. It's expensive for here, but once every couple of months I treat myself. Also, Los Tucanes, across from the back entrance to the mercado, Casa de Campo on the old road to Xalapa, Finca de Andrade across from the park, El Menu, that has fixed price comidas for under 40 pesos, La Papa, Posada San Jeronimo. There are many restaurants in Coatepec, most of them very reasonable with good food. There's also a vegetarian restaurant, a Spanish restaurant, two Italian restaurants (one with excellent pizza), and a Japanese place (not too good, I hear).
