Maps of restaurants Devin Rogers 8-20-09  
I was looking on the Google map and now see that they have the streets for Xalapa. The problem is that, neither in the "Visitors Info," nor on the map on the front page are a lot of restaurants listed in this site. What gives?

A truly useful city guide will have a comprehensive list of places to eat. I like the site, but...

Part of the problem is advertising. Some of the laws in Mex. and the tax structure in Mex. make it difficult to advertise. But we are working on it. If you want to know where there are some good restaurants, let me know. The "La Gavia" advertised is good. There are several on Avila Camacho near downtown Xalapa that are also good. Ascedero Cien on Avila Camacho and another one near the bus station in Caxca are also good.
In Coatepec: Las Quatro Estanciones and El Cedro are good. If you want an inexpensive lunch and or breakfast try La Papas in Coatepec. There are others, but this should get you started.
There are no authentic Spanish restaurants that serve good Paella. If you have traveled to Spain you know good Paella. This is 4th best here in this part of the country.
Take care and you might try some of the side walk cafes near Parque Juarez in Xalapa. Don't eat from stands on the street.
