A classic not to be missed Dom 12-13-07  
"La Churreria de Recuerdos" is a well known classic restaurant, serving excellent regional dishes with a typical open kitchen. Everything is delicious. Try the daily specials. One of my favorite dishes is champinones enchipotlados. For desert do not miss the churros con chocolate.
Apart from the great and economic food the place is located above the beautiful Parque Tecajetes and its large bay windows give onto the foliage of tropical trees.
As a plus the restaurant is open late, at least until 10pm, and everyday.
It's located on Victoria 158, across from the Hotel Xalapa Finca Real.
If you go there for lunch don't forget to visit the park.
