Moving to Xalapa with a pet Jill Mollenhauer 10-1-08  
I'm moving to Xalapa shortly with my husband and cat and am wondering what to do with the cat while we're looking for apartments. We planned to originally stay in a hotel for a couple of days while apartment hunting but none of the hotels appear to allow pets- even one's that say they do online contradict themselves when you actually ask them in person. Any suggestions?

Dear Jill,

There is a veterinarian and kennel located near las Trancas in Xalapa. The Vets name is Jaime Medina and he speaks English. His web site is:jaimehappyzoo@hotmail.com. He comes highly reccommended to us from some friends who own a pet store in Xalapa. The address is:Flamboyanes no. 10. His telephone number is:812-8402 in Xalapa. The area code for Xalapa is 228. He reccomends that you bring your own food and toys for the cat. He charges $60.00 pesos per day.

Las Trancas is on the Eastern edge of Xalapa going toward Veracruz. There are many hotels in the area as well as Costco, Home Depot, Sams, Las Americas shopping center.
