I have heard that retirees have some benefits? I would like to find out more information since all factors need to be considered for a move there. Thanks,

Dear Shawn,

Your'e right. For example, if you are over 62 you can obtain a "retirees" card and realize discounts on medications, bus travel (50%), movies, some restaurants, and other services. Hospital stays are charged according to how much you make at very good hospitals and good doctors. There is no problem in obtaining an FM3 which will allow you to stay as a legal resident for one year. Also you can get an import permit so that you don't have to go to the states every 6 months for renewal for your vehicle.

Uhhhh... I guess I'm dumb, but I missed something... I'm not sure how the import permit applies to the benefits and retirees card? I don't understand the 6 month thing. I will post another question like this so that others can also understand.

Also, where does one apply for the "retirees" card? I plan on moving to the Teocelo or Xico area.
