Am considering retiring in xalapa, was there 7 years ago and loved it: two questions: how is the climate overall? too much rain? what can I expect to pay for a small two bedroom house approximately. thanks for your help.

Dear Joyce, This year has been unusually dry. But hopefully we will have more rain starting in May and June. The overall climate is very comfortable. Of course it is relative to where you live. The daytime temps. at present get up to the high 80's and drop to the low 60's at night. But at present it isn't very humid. When it rains, it usually occurrs in the evening hours. so you still have your days free. There are different price ranges depending on what area of Xalapa or coatepec you choose. But the prices range from $300 per month to anywhere upwards. $300 or $400 per month will put you in a comfortable house in a decent area. Hope this helps. We are also looking at retiring in the xalapa area later this year. How cold does it get in the winter and how humid? In the winter, does it rain a lot or do you have sunny days? Thanks so much Debra
