Expats - after living in Xalapa area for a year, what do you think? ken 9-28-08
I was wondering what the expats who have been in Xalapa for a year or more now think about living in the area? What are the positives and negatives?

This is helpful for those of us just contemplating a move.

Thanks!

Xalapa has a lot of traffic, but there are many sites of interest. Xalapa is on the move for modernization. Is this good or bad?

Coatepec is a beautiful town 10 minutes from Xalapa and is also going through some changes. Many Americans, Canadians, and Europeans are looking at this town of approx. 60 thousand (?) as a retirement location. It is now a buyers market for land or houses. However, expect to pay almost as much as you would in say Tex. for a house. But it is full of atmosphere and culture and is the seat of coffee, if you like it.

Hope more will respond to your e-mail.

Jay
