How do I get to Xalapa? Esteban 8-13-10  
I'm having a hard time finding a way to get to Xalapa from Houston. I do know how to navigate the bus system in Mexico so....are my only options to take the bus from Mexico City? Are there inexpensive flights from the US to Vera Cruz then hop the bus up to Xalapa?

Dear Estaban,

The buses to Xalapa are very easy to use. Go Matamoros and take ADO to the city of Veracruz. Catch another ADO to Xalapa,about 1and one half drive.

If you want to fly, Continental fly's directly from Houston to Veracruz. I don't know the cost.

If you drive, take the coastal highway from Matamoros to Xalapa. Directions are plainly marked and a word of caution, don't drive at night. Tampico is exactly half way between Brownsville/Matamoros and Xalapa.
