One thing is for sure: In Xalapa I find that families are still close enough to spend a Sunday in the park together.
I had a nice experience in Xalapa today while at the park called Parque Los Berros. We weren't looking for the park, but while walking back to our car from Parque Juarez (yes, I know it is a long way to the car), we happened to take a wrong turn and decided to rest.
Well, I saw families of all sizes together in the park - some sitting, some playing, some riding four-wheel cycles. Small children were holding on for dear life as they rode ponies. Others seemed to be learning to ride their bikes for the first time, their training wheels bent from too many corners turned in desperation and without braking.
What a peaceful feeling to sit there and watch these events. I truly enjoyed it! |
